- RulesTOURNAMENT RULES A. General Rules 1. Applicable Rules & Laws: It is the responsibility of each angler to be familiar with these JBT rules. All registered anglers must also comply with all applicable Federal and Florida laws regarding fishing licenses, size limits, bag limits, speed limits, Etc. Any infractions of the applicable rules will disqualify the registered angler(s) and boat from the entire tournament and any disqualified angler(s) will not be entitled to any refund. 2. Bait & Tackle: The only line that may be used in the JBT is 20 lb manufacture-stated monofilament line. No intentional chumming with whole or cut fish is allowed during tournament fishing hours. Dredges and kites are permitted. For purposes of this JBT, the leader shall not exceed a maximum length of fifteen (15) feet with your leader and double line not to exceed 20 feet. Hooks must be “Tournament legal” non-offset circle hooks. Hooks must not be altered in any manner whatsoever with the exception of sharpening. Any fish caught on any other hook type is disqualified. 3. Maximum Anglers and Lines: Only registered anglers may fish in this tournament. 'jupiterbillfishtournament' - Awards2011- 5th ANNUAL JUPITER BILLFISH TOURNAMENT RESULTS Visit IN THE BITE for all points and scoring On Wednesday January 12, 2011 the 5th Annual Grand Slam Jupiter Billfish Tournament kicked off at the Square Grouper Tiki Bar with 39 boats entered and over a $300,000 purse. Fishing began Thursday, January 13 with a cold front moving through and sailfish jumping! From the moment lines hit the water the radio room was buzzing with releases, 60 caught in the first hour. It was an exciting day of non-stop releases, up to five fish being released at a time. A total of 559 sailfish were released between both days of fishing. Taking home first place overall was the team on the Boneshaker who earned 8700 points for their 29 releases. Second place went to the team on the Miss Annie who had 39 releases for a total of 7800 points and Third place overall was the De-Bait-Able with 34 Releases and 6800 points. The Tournament was a great success with our friends from the Coastal Conservation Association joining us and benefitting from the raffle and silent auctions.
